FRENCH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE CALLS FOR NEW
MEDITERRANEAN UNION
Will this form the 10 Kingdoms?
Two Israeli authors are publishing the claim that the Soviet Union deliberately engineered the Six Day War. This shocking revelation accuses the Soviet Union of creating the pre-war conditions by manipulating the Arab-block nations to build up massive forces at the Israel border to annihilate the Jews and the Jewish State.
The underlying purpose behind this plot was even more sinister. The Soviets were hoping that the massive numbers of Arab forces pressing against Israel’s borders would force Israel to launch a pre-emptive strike against the multi-national Arab forces which swarmed the Israeli borders on the North, East, and South. The Soviets created the conflict by using lies and disinformation about Israeli troop movements.
What was the reason for this daring Soviet strategy? What did they hope to gain? The Russians had received information about Israel’s progress toward nuclear arms. They built this elaborate scheme with the hope that Israel would be forced to counterstrike to preserve her life in the face of massive enemy forces which were seizing on the opportunity to totally destroy the Jews while they had Soviet assistance backing them up.
Soviets and Egyptians Planned to bomb Dimona
The Soviet thinking planned a joint Egyptian-Soviet bombing of the Israeli reactor at Dimona. Included in this daring plan was a joint naval landing on Israel’s beaches with a 30-man detachment into Haifa port to secure Israel’s naval command headquarters. The authors, Gideon Remez and Isabella Ginor wrote “Foxbats Over Dimona: the Soviet’s Nuclear Gamble in the Six-Day War,” say the Soviets flew sorties over Dimona shortly before the Six Day War started. Their thinking was to show their involvement in the impending battle, and thus pressure Israel to launch the war with a pre-emptive strike of their own. They could then brand Israel as an aggressor for its preemption. The Arabs could use it as justification to launch the war with a joint Arab-Soviet “counter-attack.” In addition, the visible Soviet air presence was also intended to ensure the nuclear target could be effectively destroyed. Soviet nuclear-missile submarines were said to have been poised off Israel’s shore. Soviet Foreign Ministry official Oleg Grinevsky said that the Israel victory “saved Dimona from annihilation.”

Nicolas Sarkozy won the May 6 run-off elections—a truly historic event. The Union for Popular Movement’s candidate will be the first French president born after World War II. In addition, if the polls are correct, Sarkozy will become the next leader of the French Republic. What is truly astounding about this is that France will have a Jewish leader...almost, for only the second time in its history.
Nicolas Sarkozy, (his friends call him “Sarko”), has become somewhat of an adopted son of the Israelis (especially in the strong French-speaking Jewish community of Netanya). Sarkozy’s father is Hungarian. His mother had a Jewish father. Sarkozy has repeatedly said he is a friend of Israel in good times and in bad.
He continues to be neutral regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and has weathered criticism for his views about Israel, much of it coming from the extreme right-winger Jean-Marie Le Pen, an outspoken hater of Jews and Israel.
Sarkozy’s foreign policy speech in March portrayed that Israel must make more concessions to relieve the stagnation between Israel and the Palestinians and to permit the Palestinians to establish a viable state. However, he made it perfectly clear to the Palestinian Authority that nothing can justify the violent tactics used by the Muslims. Sarkozy said, “I am concerned that there be a balance between the rights of Israel to security and recognition by its neighbors and the right of Palestinians to a state. Only if Israel is guaranteed that its existence will not be threatened and the Palestinians are allowed to form a viable state can we achieve a durable a viable solution.”
He is considered a no-nonsense politician when it comes to security issues on Iran, anti-semitism and global terror. He is seen by some as someone who has more pro-American views than the average Frenchman feels comfortable with.
France has had long-standing ties with Lebanon, Algeria, Iran and Russia. Sarkozy has expressed concern about Lebanon’s political autonomy and the disarmament of Iran’s Lebanon-based Hezbollah. To the Iranian’s press toward dominance in the region he said, “With regard to Mister Ahmadinejad, I remind you of what I have already said about his attitudes and positions. His call for the destruction of Israel and denial of the reality of the Shoah (holocaust) are totally inadmissible and irresponsible. I am actually not even sure these views are shared by a majority of the Iranians, far from it.”
The Turkish Problem
Perhaps Sarkozy’s most controversial vision is undertaking the blockage of Turkish membership in the European Union. He stands firm that if Turkey is admitted into the EU, then Lebanon and Israel must also be admitted.Israel is the only truly democratic, free society in the entire Middle-east.
Turkey is outside the limits of the European continent. It rests in the “Near East.” All of the Near and Middle-eastern countries are firmly under the domination of Islam. Christianity and Judaism survive in extremely small numbers under terrible persecution and fear of death.
“If I am against its admission to the EU, it is not because I am against Turkey, but because I am for a “traditional” Europe..” “The EU cannot have infinite borders, and it seems to me that for reasons of history, geography and culture, Turkey has no place inside of these borders. I find hard to accept an EU which extends to the borders of Syria and Iraq” He continued.
“I would like to remind you that the inclusion of Turkey that was envisioned about 45 years ago, and at the time, it was into a “common market,” but not into a political union.
I therefore seek the establishment of a strategic partnership, economic as well as cultural, with Turkey and other states circling the Mediterranean. This is the basis of the Euro-Mediterranean union that I proposed. Europe cannot turn its back on the Mediterranean, which is a component of its identity.”
As an alternative to admitting Turkey into the European Union, Mr. Sarkozy has put forth novel idea. A new union of nations should be formed in the Near and Middle east. It may be named “The Euro-Mediterranean Union.” It is envisioned to be separate from the EU, and yet retaining certain connections and cooperation with it.
Could this lead to
the forming of the 10 Kingdoms
as prophesied by Daniel?
Daniel 7:7-8, 24 clearly foretells of a union of nations which will form just before the Tribulation begins:
“After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it; and it was diverse than all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots; and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise AFTER them: and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.”
Just as the fourth kingdom depicted in Daniel 2:40-44 prophesied the rise and the ruthless rule of Roman Catholicism in the days known as the Old Roman Empire, even so the words of the Jewish prophet Daniel reveals in chapter 7:7-8, 23-24 the last form of Romanism just before the return of Messiah to take this Earth from the clutches of evil and launch His eternal kingdom of true peace.
The text of Daniel 7:7 first describes the last-day return to power of the massive cultic machinery of Romanism. Then, the ten horns are seen, showing the order of their fulfillment. Roman Catholicism has experienced a resurging of its political influence in the past few decades, despite the staggering revelations of gross, unspeakable immorality practiced by many of her clergy. The iron of strength is weakened by the clay of cultic and immoral practice.
Antichrist cannot rise to power
Until AFTER the 10 kingdoms
have formed
It is noteworthy that “the Little Horn” mentioned in verse 8 does not rise up until after the 10 horns have fully formed. This fact is repeated in verse 24, where the Scripture interprets the symbolism of the 10 horns. Again, the Word of God makes a clear case that the first public showing of the Little Horn is AFTER the 10 kingdoms have formed! This is a very important and necessary revelation to all Bible students because it reveals the timing of Antichrist’s first public appearance.
The 10 horns are represented by 10 kings. It is common knowledge that a king is not a king without his kingdom. It is the kingdoms ruled by these kings that are the real focus of this symbolism.
While the horns are representative of kingdoms with their respective kings, the Little Horn is representative of a single individual. “Behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things” (Dan. 7:8 b).
“and another shall rise after them, and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings” (Dan. 7:24 b).
Every scripture referring to the future final dictator is recorded in the absolute singular, offering clear proof that Antichrist will be an individual—a man. He will develop his base of followers in the first 3 1/3 years of Daniel’s 70th Week, forming his evil empire from the ever-growing numbers of his willing and not-so-willing devotees.
Antichrist will appear publicly for the first time at the signing of the false peace covenant with Israel on day 1 of the Trib. He will be the signer on the Muslim side.
“He shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate” (Dan. 9:27).
An explanation of verse 27: To “confirm” is to establish, ratify, make binding. A “prophetic week” is 7 years, which is the length of this covenant as well as the length of the Tribulation itself. “In the midst of”—or 3 1/2 years into the covenant Antichrist will break his covenant by a surprise invasion of Israel (Isa. 10:28-32). “Overspreading,” too much of, full coverage of. “abominations” sins against God that are so heinous that they require the death penalty. “he shall make it desolate” Antichrist will make the 3rd Temple desolate, or empty of God’s presence and of Jewish presence by his perverse sins and his persecution of the Jews. “Until the consummation” until the final end of the Tribulation. “Shall be poured upon the desolate” terrible persecution and death will be poured upon the desolate Jews by Antichrist and his followers.
An examination of maps portraying the boundaries of the old Roman Empire show Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Iraq, Iran, Egypt and Libya included in her territories. That fact permits the possibility that these countries might be in the end-time scenario as part of the 10 kingdoms.
We will watch this developing issue regarding the forming of a Euro-Medi-terranean Union to see if it will indeed become reality and become the entity that forms the 10 Kingdoms.
Is Our Missile Defense
Aimed at Russia?
The leaders of the Czechs and the Poles leaped at the U.S. offer to play host to American missile-defense radar facilities on their soil. Polish leaders enthusiastically agreed to house 10 antiballistic missiles. Their people were at first skeptical—until they saw Russia’s hysterical response. Now, they’re getting more pro-American by the minute.
The head of Russia’s missile forces visited the site and threatened to point its nuclear missiles directly at the two countries unless they stopped cooperating with the U.S. This, even though the small missile-defense system the U.S. plans is woefully inadequate against a Russian nuclear attack. Russia’s reaction is “yet more evidence that Moscow’s policy has not significantly changed for 500 years,” said Mariusz Muszynski in Poland’s Rzeczpospolita. Russia is actually angry that the U.S. base will be another hindrance to a Russian invasion of Poland. Poland will be protected from an increasingly militant Russia with U.S. troops present. The U.S. will have some protection against incoming missiles from Iran or N. Korea.
The Iranian and N. Korean arsenals
Iran’s new Shihab 5 ICBM can reach anywhere in the eastern half of the U.S.. North Korea’s Taipo Dong 2-C ICBM is rumored capable of reaching all the way to Atlanta, Georgia.
Israeli intelligence indicates that Iran already has 6 or more nuclear warheads and many smaller “dirty bombs.” North Korea has about 10 nuclear warheads and a massive arsenal of biological and chemical warheads ready to launch.
It would be foolish not to prepare for an attack of some form of WMDs in these unstable and evil days. Families should prepare for what may be a real and devastating attack across our nation. It is most important that we also prepare ourselves spiritually for the worst that might happen. I urge you and yours to submit your heart and life to Jesus Christ and ask Him to redeem you from all your sins. He is faithful and just to deliver us from sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
