The Golan Heights
In Prophecy

   The Golan Heights are strategic militarily. They are extremely important due to their involvement in Biblical prophecy. When Antichrist breaks his 7 year covenant with Israel at the half-way mark, his northern invasion force will enter the Jewish State by way of the Golan Heights. Following the cities mentioned in Isaiah 10:28-32, one can see the routes taken by the two pincers of Antichrist’s northern forces as they penetrate Israel and push southward to take over Jerusalem and the Temple.

   To build assurances that Israel will be pressured into conceding the Golan to Syria, evidence is growing that Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad is rapidly preparing for the next war against Israel. As you read this, the Hezbollah terrorist units in both Syria and Lebanon have already replaced all of the 4,000 rockets used in the 2006 Hezbollah war against Israel, and, perhaps have surpassed their previous military preparedness.

   The F-22 is a US-developed fifth generation stealth fighter jet. Israel has requested that the Defense Ministry present the request on its behalf to the Pentagon so Israel can retain its military edge in the region due to American plans to sell smart bombs to Saudi Arabia.

   Technically, the F-22 has been forbidden for export by the Pentagon because of its classified technology. However, “There is no stronger relationship than with Israel,” Cohen said. “There could be circumstances that that level of technology would be released to Israelis.”

   Cohen added, “The prospect of Iran getting nuclear weapons changes the dynamics in the region with great impact for the rest of the world.”

   The Jerusalem Post reported that Cohen currently heads the Cohen Group, which provides business consulting services and advice on tactical and strategic opportunities around the globe.

SQUEEZING IRAN
WHERE IT HURTS

The Bush administration is tightening the sanction screws—and the means that terrorist-supporting companies need to help fund terrorist causes.

   America has had restrictions on business with Iran since the hostage crisis in 1979. That broke US-Iranian ties, including financial ones in technology and aid. These were expanded and codified in the Clinton years. The effect, however, is unclear because the restrictions were not multi-national. According to congressional figures, there has been more than $126 billion of foreign investment in Iran since 1999. In 2005, according to the State Department, $22b. In export credits or loan guarantees were made available to Iran by OECD credits.

   The US has expanded its arsenal of financial weapons to assault the Iranian economy itself. The State Department has won UN Security Council sanctions preventing the export of arms to Iran and freezing the assets of organizations and individuals involved in nuclear and missile efforts, as well as enlightening major companies negotiating business deals in Iran, urging them to reconsider.

   Expanded powers granted to the Treasury under a 2005 executive order has permitted them approach more than 40 banks around the world, making the case not to do business with Iran.

   Even Arab investors from neighboring countries are reevaluating their investment strategy with Iran. Swiss Bank UBS has announced an end to dealings with Iran. “It’s been incredibly effective, says Michael Jacobson, who served in the Treasury Department under Levy.

   Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad now sees a weakened government. His oil minister admitted that it would have problems supplying oil if current international limitations continue.

   But, it is not enough to merely shake the Iranians ability to function smoothly. So far the regime shows no sign of slowing their enrichment program. In fact, they actually increased production after receiving an ultimatum to stop.

   Iran already has nuclear weapons capability, according to Israeli intelligence. Some warn that time has almost run out. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) put it this way at a banking committee hearing: “The clock is ticking. We don’t know with precision when Iran will reach the point of no return with regard to a nuclear capability. The effort here is to try to avoid the necessity to resort to military force. And, so, you know, we want to be aggressive sooner rather than later when it comes to this situation.”

   A new 50,000 Rials banknote released by the Central bank of Iran in March is emblazoned with a nuclear symbol. The currency is seen as a response to international sanctions.

   Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Cal.) is drafting legislation that would remove tax penalties for those who choose to sell their stocks in companies doing business with Iran, and reinvest the money elsewhere. Others would force federal pension funds to divest from businesses with ties to Iran, remove legal barriers to certain state divestment activity and limit sales of American airplane parts needed by Iran.

   According to a CSP study, on average between 15% and 23% of major public pension funds—representing more than $1 billion in stock alone—are invested in businesses doing business with Iran.

   The most far-reaching action is the Iran Counter-proliferation Act, sponsored by House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Tom Lantos (D-Cal.) and Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Oregon). Under this bill, the Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps, which controls about a third of the country’s industry, would be added to the terror list; the US would be forbidden to enter into nuclear deals with Russia as long as it has nuclear relationships with Iran. There would be a ban on future free trade agreements with countries doing business with Iran would be called for; assistance to the World Bank would be reduced in proportion to its aid to Iran; and more money would be allocated for the Treasury’s efforts and democracy promotion.

   At its core, the new legislation strengthens the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996 (Known as the Iran and Libya Sanctions Act until Libya gave up its nuclear weapons program and was removed from the State Department’s terror list). This act gave the U.S. Government the authority to sanction foreign companies investing more than $20 million in Iran’s energy sector, which accounts for about 80% of its exports. Up to now, the White House has never seriously implemented the sanctions, using the waver at its discretion to offenders. The House version repeals that waver.

   If these legislations become law to be enforced immediately, we could see some results quickly.

Fatah Vows to use U.S.
Donated Guns on Israel

More evidence that the current generation of liberal politicians fail to understand the Middle-east problem has surfaced. Some U.S. decision-makers sold 7,000 assault rifles and 1 million rounds of ammunition to the Fatah military wing of the Palestinian Authority (PA). Fatah was birthed by the late, renown terrorist leader, Yasser Arafat and Mahmoud Abbas as the attack force of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

   Aaron Klein of WorldNet Daily reported that PA president Mahmoud Abbas, has called on Arab factions to stop their infighting and to focus their fighting on Israel, which he said is, “corrupting humanity on earth.”

   “Shooting your brother is forbidden...We should put our internal fighting aside and raise our rifles only against the Israeli occupation,” he stated in a speech to Hamas and Fatah members.

   It is believed that the rifles Abbas spoke of are those recently donated by the United States. In a effort to deter Hamas, the U.S. agreed to provide $86.4 million in aid to strengthen Fatah, which has loyalty to Abbas, though some have defected to Hamas.

   Many of the major news organizations apparently sanitized the speech by omitting Abbas’ call to fight Israel.

   A Fatah terrorist told WorldNetDaily that the bulk of the American arms will be used to “hit the Zionists...It’s unnatural to think these American weapons won’t be used against the Israelis.” he said.

Arabs Steal Israeli Cattle

Arutz-7—The Israeli Cattle Breeders Association (ICBA) reported that cattle theft in southern Israel is up 236% compared to last year. The stolen cattle have been traced to Palestinian Authority areas, where competing milk and meat markets have formed at the expense of the heavy investment from Jewish breeders.

   More than 1,030 head of cattle were reported stolen from southern Israeli farms in 2006. Another 350 more are suspected to have been stolen but were not reported.

   Northern Israeli cattle breeders also suffer loss. Damages are estimated at 30 million shekels per year. There is no insurance for lost livestock.
