TURKEY BECOMING UNSTABLE SYRIA: WE WANT GOLAN HTS.
Turkey is an important piece of God’s great prophetic puzzle. This nation will play a prophetically significant role by its cooperation with the future Antichrist.
I recall vividly the exciting news that Turkey had made peace with Israel in 1995, while under the threat of annihilation by Iran and Syria. The threat came when Turkey refused their demand that she annihilate all of her Kurdish citizenry. Turkey refused to commit genocide for two reasons: 1. Because of humanitarian grounds, the evil command to slaughter them was unthinkable, 2. Kurds make up 20% of her population. Such a massive slaughter would bankrupt Turkey’s economy.
Turkey’s Peace with Israel
Under this death threat by fellow-Muslim nations, Turkey turned to the Jewish state of Israel for friendship and help.
In appreciation for this new friendship, Israel offered to give advanced training to Turkey’s troops protecting her borders with Iran, Iraq and Syria. Turkey responded to this by permitting Israel’s fighter jets to train in Turkish airspace, due to the loss of her own because of land give-aways to the Palestinian Authority.
Israel offered to give Turkey intelligence reports of enemy troop movements from her satellite. Turkey responded by offering Israel intelligence about Muslim threats against the Jews. Turkey was also allowed to be included with joint U.S.-Israel-European military maneuvers.
Turkey gave her permission for the building of oil, natural gas and water pipelines across her country, terminating at the Turkish coast where Israeli ships can load and carry the precious cargo home. I response, Israel agreed to upgrade Turkey’s aging fighter jets from F-4 to F-16 class.
Other agreements between the two countries have sealed a relatively warm relationship for the foreseeable future.
Gas & Water
One of the very important cooperative ventures was the Azerbaijan, Turkey pipeline. The Blue Stream natural gas pipeline runs 243 miles along the bottom of the Black Sea from Dzhuba in Russia to Samsun on the Turkish coast. A fiber optic cable transmitting high-speed data is also part of this arrangement with Israel. Turkey also made a deal to pipe fresh water from the Goksu River and the Manavgat River to Israel. The latter project is not moving forward yet.The combination pipeline starts at the Turkish Mediterranean port city of Ceyhan and stretches underwater to Haifa, Israel.
This mutual exchange of goods and ideas was unthinkable a few decades ago. Today, there is encouraging cooperation which benefits both countries.
The pro-Muslim Erdogan

All that began to change after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. Turkey determined to keep Muslim fanaticism at bay by instituting a secular-run government. The Turks prided themselves on being a secular-run country for the last few decades, despite the fact that her population is about 97% Muslim.

In the Erdogan administration
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan carried his Justice and Development Party to a win, taking 341 of the 550 seats, down from 351 in his last parliamentary election.
Erdogan, a devout Muslim, said at a rally in the capital Ankara, “We will never make concessions over the values of the people, the basic principles of our republic. This is our promise. We will embrace Turkey as a whole without discriminating.”
The Turkish election was called early to defuse a showdown with the military-backed secular establishment, which contended that Erdogan and his allies were plotting to scrap Turkey’s secular traditions despite his promises and Turkey’s openness to the West.
Erdogan raised concerns with recent efforts to include Islamic issues in government decisions. Erdogan tried to make adultery a crime and to appoint former Islamist politicians to key positions. Critics were also troubled by his calls for the lifting of restrictions on the wearing of Islamic headscarves, which might lead to a law requiring all women to wear the same head covering.
Many government opponents constitute a traditional elite that has roots in state institutions such as the courts and the military—guardians of the secular legacy of national founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. However, these have more of an authoritarian background and less of a reformist record than the government.
The Kurdish autonomists
The government will also have to decide how to deal with ongoing violence from Kurdish rebels seeking their own country. Kurds make up 20% of Turkey’s total population. A member of NATO, Turkey is considering an offensive into northern Iraq against separatist Kurdish rebels who rest, train and resupply at bases there.Erdogan has warned that military action
Could happen if security talks with Iraq and the U.S. fail. He has invited Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to visit Turkey. The commander of the Iraq-based Kurdish rebels told the Associated Press in an interview that he believes Turkey will quickly follow the elections with a long-anticipated offensive against his remote mountain bases.
Murat Karayilin, leader of the separatist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), warned that his fighters were prepared for battle, but denied Ankara’s charges that his group was using Iraqi soil to launch attacks against Turkish forces across the border.
Turkey has an emboldened class of devout Muslims, led by the ruling party, who are willing to pursue Western-style reforms to strengthen the economy and to boost their efforts to join the European Union. Inflation dropped under the last Erdogan administration, investment has increased, and the economy has grown at an annual rate of 7 percent.
Turkey in Bible prophecy
The 70 million Turks are shown as one the region’s players in the future seven years of the Tribulation.The Jewish prophet Jeremiah prophesied that Turkey, Iran and Syria would invade Iraq in these last days.
“Remove out of the midst of Babylon (Iraq), and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans (southern Iraq), and be as the he goats before the flocks.
For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence shall she be taken: their arrows shall be as from a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.
And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied…” (Jer. 50:9-10).
Muslim Strategy
Iran and Syria, with assistance from other Arab-block nations, have been using volunteer terrorist hit-men to daily attack our U.S. soldiers in Iraq. Their hope is to keep the new Iraqi government too weak to defend themselves, and to soften the resolve of the American public so that our forces will bow to demands to exit Iraq and return home.The Iranians, Syrians and Turks plan to exploit the resulting void by pushing in with their forces and each nation take a portion of Iraq. Iran plans to take the eastern third, Syria the western two thirds, and Turkey plans to take the northern portion down to the 36th parallel. These portions were established during the first Gulf War by these countries, and announced to General Norman Shwarzkoff at his base at the joined borders of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq.
Positioning the Troops
At this writing, Turkish troops are building along her southeastern border with Iraq’s northern boarder. Iran is increasing its military along her northwestern border with Iraq. Syrian troops and equipment are building up along Iraq’s northwestern border. These developments line up perfectly with Jeremiah’s prophecy. It gives the appearance of vultures waiting to swarm the weakened prey—as soon as the American eagle flies from the scene.“Set up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her (Iraq-Babylon), call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni and Ashchenaz (Eastern Turkey, Armenia); appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers.
Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes (northern Iran), the captains thereof, and all the land of his dominion.
And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the Lord shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant…” (Jer. 51:27-29).
Verses 27 and 28 may be fulfilled in our day, due to the current developments now unfolding in the region. We will continue to watch the movements of these nations. Verse 29 of this prophecy, however, will be completed during the last 3 1/2 years of Daniel’s 70th Week.

Following the recent showdown between Hamas and the al-Fatah wing of the PLO, Israel and Fatah leaders under President Mahmud Abbas resumed contacts at the highest levels. During these secret talks, Syria’s dictator, Bashar Asad repeated his readiness for “serious” talks with Israel, and the foreign ministers of Egypt and Jordan came to Jerusalem on a sounding-out mission for the Arab League.
The secret attack
Syria and Hezballah forces have replaced virtually all of the missiles and other weapons used in the war against Israel late summer in 2006. In fact, they have acquired newer, more sophisticated weapons from Iran, including longer-range, more powerful missiles and heavy troop carriers. The signs are pointing to the next war which they will launch soon.Israel destroyed a military structure in northern Syria after a North Korean ship unloaded suspicious cargo. Though top secret, it has leaked out that the materials were nuclear These events set the stage for the future “middle war” of the Tribulation, when Antichrist defeats Israel, and takes over the new Jewish Temple in Jerusalem!
One of the two northern invasion forces of the future Antichrist will enter Israel through the Golan Heights. Both his Northern combined forces from Europe, and his North-Eastern combined forces are described in Isaiah 10:28-32.
