“Reaching the lost—feeding the sheep since 1955”
Mahmoud Abbas
is Arafat’s replacement a peace maker?
He is the newly elected Palestinian Authority (PA) president. But, what do we know about this man who now replaces Yasser Arafat as the leader of the world’s most renown terrorist organization, which has now been promoted to legitimacy by world opinion? Is he determined to stop proliferation of Arab-built hatred against the Jews, and will he become a peaceful neighbor?

Mahmoud Abbas(or Abu Mazen, as he is known among his terrorist friends), was
the number two man in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) under
Yasser
Arafat from day one. He helped form Arafat’s Al Fatah terrorist organization,
the military wing of the PLO, and authored its “Plan for the Destruction of
Israel.” In his book, “The Secret Relationship Between Zionism and Nazism,” he
claimed Zionists inflated the number of Holocaust victims, saying, “Only 890,000
Jews were murdered by the Nazis—because there were no gas chambers.” Abbas
mastermined the murder of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics in Munich,
Germany.
Abbas has not abandoned Yasser Arafat’s two-track policy—to talk about peace
with the Western media while orchestrating continued terror attacks against
Israel. Six Israeli citizens were killed in one of those attacks, two of them
were Arabs.
The liberal media has created the false impression that the “militants” cannot
be stopped because of their numbers. While the Islamist terrorist groups enjoy
broad popular support, mainly in the Gaza Strip, the actual number of forces
under arms is estimated to be no more than 1,500. The identities of the
terrorists, and their locations are known. The PA has an estimated 40,000
policemen and many secular services.
If Abbas is serious about exercising the same control that Arafat had, and
fulfilling his stated commitment to the “road map,” he must use the money
resources at his command to disarm and arrest anyone who illegally possesses
weapons and threatens to engage in violence.
Israel has been asked to help Abbas. It must be remembered that the dozens of
times Israel has invested into assisting Arafat’s PA, there has not been a
single case where the Arabs came through on their half of the bargain. Israel
owes Abbas nothing. Abbas must prove that he has both the will and the ability
to reform the PA, including dismantling their terrorist networks, and ending the
attacks.
Words mean nothing. The PLO, the Al Fatah, and the Palestinian Authority have
proven in all past experiences that they cannot be trusted. None of their
agreements or contracts have been honored. Their conciliatory statements to the
press and their cease-fires with Hamas and other terrorist groups have proven to
be nothing but strategy. All of these groups remain committed to Israel’s total
destruction.
Though Israel has no obligation to do so, she has again taken steps of goodwill,
including facilitating the Palestinian elections (which international observers
reported were unfettered by Israel), releasing prisoners, and withdrawing troops
from parts of the territories. Israel has also said it is prepared to negotiate
the disengagement rather than act unilaterally. In fact, a unity government was
especially formed in January 2005 that now includes the Labor Party. This
increases the flexibility Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will have to negotiate in
the talks with the PA.
The positive statements about ending violence and confiscating weapons made by
Abbas will have to be watched closely.
Hamas, Hesbollah, Islamic Jihad, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade have the practical
advantage, even though Abu Mazen holds the top post. Hamas moved quickly to
provide improved social services and assistance to the rank and file—something
the money-hording Arafat refused to do. He tried to blame Israel for their
poverty, while putting millions into his personal Swiss bank accounts. This will
likely give Hamas a better image among Palestinian voters.
The wheeling and dealing among the Arab candidates furrowed eye-brows among the
Israelis, and for good reason. Here are examples:
No attempt has been made to disarm terrorists operating in Israel within
Palestinian areas.
Hamas’s wafer thin promise of temporary hudna (cease-fire) can crank up their
killing machine if their demands are not met.
Abbas reportedly declared that upon receiving security control over Jericho, he
would release all Palestinian terrorists held there since May 2002, including
the murderers of Israeli Minister of Tourism Rehavam Ze’evi, who was shot in the
face at point-blank range in his Jerusalem hotel in 2001.
Abbas told terrorist leaders now headquartered in Damascus, Syria, that when the
Israeli Defense Forces leave the Gaza Strip, they would be invited to move their
offices there.
Abbas ordered the execution of 15 Palestinians accused of collaberation with
Israel, while he harbored fugitive terrorists in Ramallah.
Abbas demands that all refugees which the Arab league ordered to evacuate in
1948 rather than live under Israeli rule, now be allowed to return to Israel
with all of their children and grandchildren born since that time. (To comply
with such a demand is unthinkable. All their numbers born since 1948 are not
Israeli citizens. To give them citizenship with all rights would be suicidal for
the state of Israel. It would give the militant Arabs the majority, which they
fully intend to use, taking advantage of the democratic process by voting to
remove all Jews from Israel so that the Palestinian Muslims can take-over all of
Israel for themselves. If that effort fails, they plan to overwhelm Israelis in
a massive slaughter of all Jews).
Abbas is demanding a Palestinian state that is “Judenrein” “free of Jews.” This
is part of their plan to eliminate all Jews from Israel so that it can be turned
into a totally Islamic state. This demand is an exact copy of Hitler’s demand in
the 1930’s that led to the holocaust.
Muslim leaders are dictating where and what Israelis are allowed to build in the
territories. Their design is to prevent the Jews from being able to properly
defend themselves in the event of attack by the Muslims.
It is reasonable to deduct that the Muslim agenda toward the annihilation of all
Jews and the State of Israel remains unchanged.
Messiah will soon avenge the damage done to His Chosen people in the coming
judgments that will sweep the Earth in the Tribulation period, and will save the
Jewish people (see Joel 3; Zeph. 2:1-15; Hagg. 2:21-22; Zech. 1:15-17; 9:1-8;
12:1-3; 14:1-7, 21; Zech. 8; etc.). Y
Fred Shmidt, with Dale Yerton, President of Worldwide Missionary Evangelism, and Rev. Rick Heinz preached the 20th Anniversary Convention of Missionaries To Asia at the MTA headquarters in Cebu City, on Cebu Island. Hundreds of ministers and their wives came from many different islands. They attended 5 services per day from April 26 through May 1. The anointing of the Holy Spirit powerfully met the ministers, confirming the Word and renewing their vision for a huge harvest of souls.

937 people came forward to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior in the first
crusade in history on Hilangtagan Island!
Many miracles of healing took place as Fred Shmidt ministered the Word of God.
This small island has only a total of 3,000 inhabitants. Bible school students
followed up the crusade for 2 weeks, helping the new converts to get established
in Christ, organizing Bible study groups and assisting the new church. When
completed, the total of souls who came to Christ from the crusade could reach
1,300. Y

L. to R.: Rev. Fred Shmidt, Rev. Billy Taylor, Janet Taylor, Mike Smith, boat builder, Rev. Dale Yerton cutting ribbon at dedication of “Heaven’s Doorway.”
The new work boat for reaching the 1,500 unreached islands of
the Philippines is about ready to put in the water. Missionary Billy Taylor,
Evangelist Fred Shmidt, and Dale Yerton, president of Worldwide Missionary
Evangelism dedicated the “Heaven’s Door.”
The 60’X 30’ catamaran is capable of weathering the open ocean where many of the
islands are that have never in their history been reached with the Gospel. This
boat will be the tool to reach them. Your help is needed immediately to pay off
the remaining debt of the boat so MTA can take delivery of it and put it to work
for the Lord. Any sized gift is needed and appreciated deeply.
