Two more soldiers were abducted July 12 by Hezballah terrorists near the coastal Lebanon border. They attacked an IDF outpost on the Israeli side, killed seven soldiers and wounding several civilians, forcing two soldiers to go with them into Lebanon.

BULLHEADED FROM DAMASCUS: Hamas leader Khaled Mashal held a press conference July 10 in Syria, insisting that the kidnapped Israeli soldier seized in the Gaza area by his group would be released only in exchanged for Palestinian prisoners (jailed for acts of terrorism).

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert issued a warning to Beirut and to Damascus. “Syria has proven that it is a terrorist government in nature. It is a government that supports terrorism and encourages murderous actions of terror organizations in and out of Syria. Obviously, there will be an appropriate deployment against the government of Syria.” With the Hezballah raid, Jerusalem and pro-Israel forces are also increasing public condemnation of Iran, where Hezballah originates.

“We now in the Middle-East have an axis of terror and hatred comprising Iran, Syria, Hamas and Hezballah, which is trying to attack Israel and prevent peace in the area,” said Arye Mekel, Israel’s consul general in New York.

Syrian and Iranian Strategy

 Israel asserts that the kidnappings were the result of a deliberate strategy crafted by Syria and Iran, and implemented by Hamas and Hezballah, to stoke violence on the Palestinian front, gain admiration from the Muslim world and to provoke Israel to action against Syria and Iran. Mekel tracked the coordination back to a little-noticed January 2006 visit by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Damascus, during which he met with Syrian President Bashar Assad, as well as leaders of Hamas, Hezballah, and two other terrorist groups: Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine General Command. Ahmadinejad and Assad vowed to fight the plots of “world arrogence and Zionism” in Lebanon and called for “continued resistance” to Israeli “occupation of the holy Islamic lands.”

According to Mekel, this “terror summit” served to coordinate anti-Israeli activities just as Hamas won the Palestinian Authority elections. “We know (Hamas leader Khaled) Mashal ordered the kidnapping of Shalit,” Mekel said, “And we know Syria and Iran have a vested interest in keeping the Palestinian issue alive, and use the Hamas government as a beachhead.” Y

Prediction came True

 In the mid-1990s, I predicted that Hamas would become the next dominating factor after Yasser Arafat left the scene. When Iran’s Hezballah was secretly merged with Hamas before Arafat’s death in 2000, it assured that prediction would come true. Hamas now dominates the 500 man PA board from Arafat’s era. Each member is the leader of his own terrorist organization, and is part of the Muslim terror-front to destroy Israel. Hamas was voted to the PA leadership role in the recent elections, vowing never to make peace with Israel and to destroy the Jews. This evil victory confirmed the widespread success of hate brainwashing in the Muslim educational system.

The Bush administration confronted Syria, urging the arrest of Khaled Mashal, head of Hamas. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice condemned the kidnappings and urged Syria “to use its influence to support a positive outcome,” while at the same time stating that “all sides must act with restraint to resolve this incident peacefully and to protect innocent life and civilian infrastructure.”

Both Mashal of Hamas and Hezballah leader Hassan Nasrallah called for prisoner exchanges to end the crisis, confirming Israeli claims that the two terrorist groups were coordinating their activities. Osama Hamdan, the Hamas spokesman in Lebanon, reportedly said that the Hezballah operation would help Hamas, but coming just short of publicly admitting that the two groups had coordinated the attacks. He suggested there would be “coordination and an understanding” as the crisis continued to unfold.

Syria may be thinking that the heat has lifted from her involvement in the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri. It prompted a United Nations probe producing circumstantial evidence of Syrian involvement at the highest levels of the Assad regime, and eventually forced Assad to withdraw his forces from Lebanon. However, Assad’s spy network and his politicians are still deeply entrenched there.

“It is most likely that the latest flare-up against Israel was requested by Iran and Syria to drag Israel into a confrontation, give Hamas stature and weaken the Palestinian Authority president,” Mahmoud Abbas, said Walid Pharis, a senior fellow with the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, adding, “Iran and Syria wanted to shift the attention from their issues—nukes for Tehran and Lebanon for Damascus—back to a Palestinian-Israeli problem in the region.”

Joshua Landis, an assistant professor of history at Oklahoma University currently based in Damascus who runs the Syrian Comment blog, in an email to Forward, takes the Syrian position in a tirade to discredit the Jewish State, “The greatest danger for Israel is that the “West” and most importantly Washington, will begin to see Israel as a mill stone around Washington’s neck.”

There is an irony of truth in Landis’ “mill stone” statement. The Bible prophesies that there will come a massive change of attitude toward Israel in the latter days that will prevail in the future Tribulation.

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all people round about, when they shall be in THE SIEGE both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
And in that day will I MAKE JERUSALEM A BURDENSOME STONE FOR ALL PEOPLE: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, THOUGH ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH BE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST IT.” (Zech. 12:2-3).

The world’s general disdain for Israel and the Jewish people is detectable in verse two of this prophecy. The term, “in that day” usually refers to events that will take place in the coming seven years of the 70th Week of Daniel (Dan. 9:24-27).

Everyone will fear for the future of Jerusalem at the time of “THE SIEGE,” when Antichrist’s multinational Muslim armies will surround Jerusalem for what they think will be the final slaughter of all remaining Jews. This attempt to annihilate God’s Chosen people will take place at the invasion of the Temple in the middle of the Tribulation Week (see Isa. 10:28-32; 16:1-5; etc.). It is at this time that the Jewish remnant will flee from Jerusalem to the hiding place of Petra in the kingdom of Jordan (Dan. 9:27; 11:40-45; 12:1, 7; 2; Matt. 24:15-22; 2 Thess. 2:4; Rev. 11:1-2; 12:1-17; 13:1-18). Failing to kill all of the Jews, Antichrist will try again 3 1/2 years later near the end of the Tribulation’s seven years.  Y
 

How far will Israel’s war with Hamas and Hezballah go?

 If Israel successfully retrieves the three kidnapped soldiers alive, then she will finish the program of de-militarizing Hamas and Hezballah until both are stripped of their ability to make terrorist strikes against Jewish citizens.

If, however, the terrorists torture or kill the Israeli captives, Israel will not stop until all terror cells in Lebanon and Syria are crushed

If Hamas and Hezballah succeed in taking the Israel captives to Iran—then everything will change. We will likely find ourselves in the heat of World War III. It is a serious likelihood that this is Iran’s intent.

Once in their hands, the soldiers will be put through the most unspeakable torture, will be used as bait to gain concessions from Israel and the United States, and used to prod a military response from Israel and the U.S. If this succeeds, Iran and Syria may well use any Israeli and U.S. action as their excuse to launch chemical, biological, Electro Magnetic Pulse—and perhaps nuclear missiles against all who oppose her, Israel, the United States, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Europe.

The general public still has not grasped the fact that the Muslims are deadly serious about conquering the entire world to force all mankind to bow to their moon-god. Iran’s Ahmadinejad is convinced that their own messiah, the Mahdi, is soon to appear, and will lead them to the world’s greatest slaughter of non-Muslims. Their Koran states that all who resist this new faze of the Muslim revolution must have their throats slit.

Israel’s response is the correct one. Strength and force are the only responses Muslims respect. Listen to Daniel’s prophecy about the coming Antichrist:

“And the king shall do according to his own will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
But in his estate shall he honor the god of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and SHALL DIVIDE THE LAND FOR GAIN” (Dan. 11:36-39).

The false religions in this world will join into a “one-world church” during the Tribulation. The demons of deception are even now pulling the cults of the world into marriages of convenience. Islam will become the “hit man” for the Roman Catholic Church in those days. Both share similar deceptions, such as: the Black Madonna, prayer beads, Babylonian doctrines, etc..
